Dr. Skalsky is an adult psychiatric nurse practitioner, Chief Nursing Officer for Meridian Behavioral Healthcare and Faculty Adjunct for the College of Nursing, Florida State University. She is a specialist in psychiatric nursing practice balancing clinical practice, teaching, and administrative duties with equal enthusiasm in both the academic and behavioral health care settings.

As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in multiple rural settings caring for the underserved population. Her current clinical practice involves providing Telehealth services to several rural clinics in the towns of MacClenny and Starke. She also provides care in Gainesville to adult psychiatric patients and operates an outpatient Detox for opioid use disorder patients in the evenings and on Saturdays.
